Aerides jarkianum is a small to medium grower, with waxy burgundy coloured, fragrant flowers to 2cm. The spikes are erect then pendulous, to about 20cm long with many flowers.. A delightful small growing species that will produce side shoots.
Basket or small slotted pot, it seems to grow well in a variety of medias and is very tolerant provided it is well drained. Comes from the Philippines, and is a warm to intermediate grower.
Aerides jarkinaum produces a lot of nectar, and the flowers are often wet and waxy, with a drop of nectar clinging to the spur.
