Ascocentrum miniatum produces bright orangered erect bottle brush like flower spikes. A dwarf grower, this should be grown in a small basket or slotted pot. Growing media needs to be open and well drained. Maximum sunlight will turn the leaves dark green, and ample fertiliser and water when growing will produce a specimen clump. A short rest after flowering. This is the correct Ascocentrum minatum from Java, slightly different to the Asco garayii fromThailand.
