A showy Brazilian species, warm to intermediate growing. This species does best on a slab of treefern, or if not available, a shallow basket with an open well drained media.
A rest after flowering is benficial, as is adequate water and fertilier as the new growths appear.
Cattleya schilleriana, along with Cattleya aclandeae, may benefit from extra shade.
