This species gets its name from the wrinkled tongue like leaf, erect spike plume like, white flowers, fragrant. Dendrobium lingueforme is best grown on a treefern slab, with maximum sunlight and must have good drainage. The plant creeps, so a long slab will accommodate a specimen. A native of eastern Queensland, the northern variety nugenteae is somewhat larger.
