This is a large robust species from Borneo. It is a very warm growing species, slow growing, and requires a basket with a coarse open media. Grown much as a strapleaf Vanda, it needs warmth and humidty. In the cooler months, conditions should be somewhat drier as the plant does not like to be wet and cold. Dimorphorchis lowii is a species that produces both male and female flowers, the female being large yellow with broad segments, the male more spider like, red overlaying almost all the yellow background.
