A terrestrial of the drier open areas of Australia. Very seasonal, the plants appear with the wet season, mature over the cooler months and flower in early spring. The seed it then produced in time for the early summer storms and wet season. Diuris are known as the donkey orchid because of its upright petals or double tails because of its usually crossed, longer lateral sepals.
