This species, from Brazil, is in the same group as L pumila, dayana etc. Laelia jongheana seems to do best on a slab of treefern, where it gets excellent drainage, and a sunny spot. An intermediate grower. Water and fertiliser when in active growth will produce a plant that clumps into a specimen. In the cooler months, when Laelia jongheana rests, less water is needed.
