A colourful plant with light to heavily mottled leaves produces a tall spike with one flower. A small pot, a well drained media that will stay damp but not wet, and a shady spot are the requirements for Pahiopedilum barbatum. As with all Paphiopedilums, the plants should not dry out hard, and water and fertiliser is best applied with the new growth. An intermediate grower from Thailand, Paphiopedilum barbatum is one of the easiest of slipper orchids to grow. The Nursery plants have very tall flower spikes.
