One of the higher elevation species, but perhaps the easiest of all Paphiopedilums to grow in any climate. A green leafed species, grown under normal orchid house conditions, it will flourish and form clumps in a variety of medias. The growing media should be well drained, keep the plants damp but not wet, and water and fertiliser should be applied as the new leads appear. Paphiopedilum spicerianum spikes are best staked, so that the heavy flowers are displayed.
