A large mottled leaf species from the Philippines. A good size basket with an open media, lots of water and fertiliser when growing, will produce a hansome plant with foliage of dark mottled green and purple underneath. A shade grower, as are most Phalaenopsis, especially the mottled leaf species, the plants should be watered less in the cooler months. An essential for all Phalaenopsis is good air movement, as they are intolerant of stale conditions. Phalaenopsis philippininense was expported under the name Phalaenopsis leucorhoda.
