Spath Valerie Southwood, a hybrid by Bill Southwood, Hawaii. This has the growth of Spathoglottis plicata, but the delicate flower form of Spathoglottid eburnea. It clumps quickly in a humus rich soil media, and will need a good sized pot. Winter in colder climes may force dormancy, at which time the bulbs should be keep almost dry. Spring and new leads indicate the best repot time, and Spathoglottis benefit from frequent repots into fresh media.
