Goblin orchid. Twisted lip, large flowers cream to orange, striped red. A deciduous species like Catasetum, requiring a rich growing media with the start of the new growth, and a dry rest when leaves fall. A small pot, rich media, plenty of sunlight and a yearly repot will produce spikes of unique Mormodes flowers.
With the new growth, lots of water and fertiliser will produce large robust pseudobulbs. Mormodes are related to Catasetums and Cycnoches, and grow in the same way.
